Intended Use & Inspection

Use for intended use only by professionals. Do not use on patients with a hypersensitivity to stainless steel.

Inspection

Be sure to inspect the instruments for fissures, cracks, surface damages or other damage prior to each use. Instruments that show any signs of corrosion, dull or weakened blades, misalignment or defects should be taken out of service immediately.

Processing & Handling

Medical devices should not be distorted, bent or overloaded, these can cause loss of function, fracture or destruction of the devices.

Cleaning Procedures

The instruments are delivered non-sterile. This process should be only be performed by trained personnel to uphold compliance with the regulations.

Manual Cleaning/Disinfection

Personnel Safety: When manually cleaning or handling contaminated instruments, personnel should wear heavy duty, puncture resistant utility gloves, a face mask, eye protection or face shield, and a gown or jacket.
  1. Completely disassemble the instruments, if applicable.
  2. Pre-Treat by soaking in an enzymatic cleaning solution.
  3. Remove remaining debris using a soft brush. Do not use metal bristles or steel wool.
  4. Rinse completely with deionized water and inspect for proper cleaning.
  5. Thoroughly dry all instruments before packaging for sterilization.

Sterilization

Use a Steam sterilizer according to AAMI/ANSI ST55 and ST8, validated according to ANSI/AAMI ST 79.

Temperature Warning: Never exceed temperatures 350º F / 177º C as this will have an adverse effect on the temper of the steel.

Storage

Store products in a dry, dust-protected place. Delicate devices should be individually packed or in protective containers, avoiding contact with chemicals.

Warranty

Damage caused by misuse, neglect, modification, or accidents is not covered. SurgiMac is not liable for results from unauthorized repairs.
