SurgiMac Dean Scissors, particularly the TC Stainless Steel Air Series, are primarily used for cutting tissues and sutures during surgical procedures. These scissors are designed with a long, curved shank that provides optimal visibility and precision, making them ideal for reaching deeper areas such as the back of the mouth. They are commonly utilized in periodontal and oral surgeries but are versatile enough for various other surgical applications. The tungsten carbide inserts on the blades ensure durability and a sharp cutting edge, which minimizes tissue trauma and promotes quicker healing

Dean Scissors are preferred in oral surgeries due to their precise design and functionality. The long, curved shank and angled blades allow surgeons to navigate and cut tissues in hard-to-reach areas with enhanced visibility. The tungsten carbide tips provide a sharp and durable cutting edge, essential for making clean and accurate cuts. This reduces the risk of slippage and ensures that tissues and sutures are handled efficiently, which is crucial in delicate oral surgical procedures. Additionally, the ergonomic design of these scissors reduces hand fatigue, making them suitable for extended use in complex surgeries

To properly clean and sterilize SurgiMac Dean Scissors, follow these steps:

1. Rinse: Immediately after use, rinse the scissors with warm water to remove any blood or tissue residue.
2. Clean: Use a brush and mild detergent to thoroughly clean the blades and handle, ensuring all debris is removed.
3. Rinse Again: Rinse off the detergent with warm water.
4. Sterilize: Place the scissors in an autoclave for sterilization, following the manufacturer's guidelines to ensure proper temperature and duration.
5. Dry: Ensure the scissors are completely dry before storage to prevent rusting.

Regular maintenance, including periodic sharpening of the tungsten carbide tips, will ensure the scissors remain effective and safe for repeated use
