Meta Biomed DM Bone, Resorbable Materials (Bone replacement material)

Description

Silicon Ion Containing 60% HA, 40% B-TCP

DM-Bone is a bioactive bone graft material, which is resorbable and able to be replaced by new bone. DM-Bone is a ceramic constituted of two-phase of silicon (<1wt%) contained coralline 60% hydroxyapatite and 40% beta-tricalcium phosphate. Small amounts of silicates stimulate the action of osteoblasts and, in consequence, the new bone formation. Moreover, silicates increase the mechanical strength, a very important factor in particular for porous ceramics, and also accelerate the bioactivitiy of apatite.
DM-Bone is 70% porous with interconnected pores of 100~600 microns in diameter. This high porosity allows maximum space for vascularization, osteoblast migration and bone deposition.

What material is used for bone replacement?

    Bone replacement materials, such as
Meta Biomed DM Bone, are composed of bioactive substances designed to support
and enhance the body's natural bone regeneration processes. DM Bone
specifically contains a blend of 60% hydroxyapatite (HA) and 40%
beta-tricalcium phosphate (B-TCP), infused with silicon ions. This combination
mimics the mineral composition of natural bone, promoting biocompatibility and
osteoconductivity. The silicon ions, although in small quantities, play a
crucial role in stimulating osteoblast activity, which accelerates new bone
formation and enhances the mechanical strength of the graft material.

What is replacement bone made of?

    Replacement bone materials, like DM
Bone, are typically made from a combination of biocompatible ceramics and
minerals that replicate the structure and function of natural bone. DM Bone is
primarily composed of 60% hydroxyapatite (HA) and 40% beta-tricalcium phosphate
(B-TCP), materials known for their ability to integrate with existing bone
tissue and support new bone growth. Additionally, DM Bone includes silicon ions
(<1wt%), which enhance the bioactivity and mechanical properties of the
material. This composition ensures that the bone graft material is resorbable,
gradually being replaced by new bone as the healing process progresses.

How does the silicon ion technology benefit my bone graft procedure?

    Silicon ion technology incorporated
in DM Bone offers several benefits for bone graft procedures. Silicon ions
enhance the bioactivity of the graft material by stimulating the action of
osteoblasts, the cells responsible for bone formation. This stimulation leads
to accelerated bone regeneration and healing. Furthermore, silicon ions
increase the mechanical strength of the material, making it more durable and
effective, especially in porous ceramics. The high porosity (70%) with
interconnected pores allows for optimal vascularization, osteoblast migration,
and bone deposition, ensuring a more robust and quicker integration with the
    patient's natural bone.

How does DM Bone ensure patient safety and comfort?

DM Bone ensures patient safety and
comfort through its excellent biocompatibility and structural design. The
material is carefully engineered to avoid biological rejection and disease
transmission, making it a safe choice for various dental and orthopedic
applications. Its porous structure (70% porosity) with interconnected pores
facilitates efficient vascularization and osteoblast migration, promoting
faster healing and reducing discomfort during the recovery period.
Additionally, the balance of hydroxyapatite and beta-tricalcium phosphate
provides a stable and supportive environment for new bone growth, ensuring
reliable and predictable outcomes for patients.

How will DM Bone improve the success rate of my bone graft procedures?

    DM Bone significantly enhances the
success rate of bone graft procedures by providing a highly bioactive and
supportive environment for bone regeneration. The combination of hydroxyapatite
and beta-tricalcium phosphate in a 60:40 ratio, along with the inclusion of
silicon ions, ensures that the material promotes rapid and effective new bone
formation. Its high porosity allows for optimal integration with the patient's
existing bone, facilitating quicker and more stable healing. The material's
biocompatibility minimizes the risk of adverse reactions, while its structural
integrity supports long-term stability and success of the graft, making it an ideal
choice for a wide range of dental and orthopedic procedures.
